What You Should Know: There is a growing number of proposed workplace mandates.
Usually an exclusive benefit for members, we're inviting both members and non-members to participate in this conference call. There are a growing number of legislative proposals that could affect how your company operates, including:
Paid Leave: The Minnesota House continues to advance a paid leave mandate bill, HF 5, which pushes for 24 weeks of paid leave for all employees - that’s 44 percent of an entire work year! Plus it creates an administrative agency of 200-300 state employees at a cost of over $900 million. PLUS it creates an additional payroll tax on employers.
Wage Theft: Onerous fines/penalities for employers who even unintentionally commit wage theft.
Predictive Scheduling: Proposals that require advance notice of work schedules. How does that work in the staffing world?
Sexual Harassment: The proposed language change removes the standard of "severe and pervasive" that Minnesota's courts have applied for decades.
As the staffing industry faces a growing number of proposed workplace mandates, MNRSA is actively engaged in all of these legislative proposals.
MNRSA lobbyist, Todd Hill, will provide an up-to-the-minute briefing on actions we're taking to defeat these proposals and how you can help influence elected officials in the last few weeks of the legislative session.
Pre-registration is not required.
