Event Description:
The Minnesota legislature passed a new wage theft law -- hailed as the nation's toughest.  The law has new, extensive record keeping provisions for ALL employers.  Those provisions have significant (and burdensome) requirements for staffing companies with a dynamic and versatile workforce.  The new law also imposes stiff penalties for those who do not comply.

At this event, Dave Skovholt and John Stiffin, MN Department of Labor and Industry, will review the new law and what's required of employers.  They will answer your questions about how to comply with the new record keeping requirements and provide guidance on things like employee handbooks, wage change notifications, electronic signatures, etc.

We are also inviting representatives from the City of Minneapolis to explain their wage theft ordinance requirements.
